The role involves providing counsel on general labor and employment matters, handling employee relations, and managing employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage/hour issues. The ideal candidate will also have experience drafting employment policies, handling employee benefits issues, and will possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Duties:
Provide general labor and employment counseling
Handle employee relations and employment litigation (discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage/hour issues)
Draft and review employment policies and procedures
Advise on employee benefits issues
Represent clients in employment-related legal matters
Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies
Maintain professional client relationships
Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in labor and employment law
NJ Bar license (required); other bar admissions are a plus
Experience in employment litigation, counseling, and employee relations
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage cases efficiently
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Detail-oriented with a high standard of professionalism
Portable business is a plus (especially for Partner role)
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Skills:
Expertise in labor and employment law
Strong legal writing, research, and analytical abilities
Ability to draft and review complex legal documents
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and deadlines
