Requirements:
Licensed attorney with the State Bar of California
Minimum two years civil litigation or family law experience
Proficiency with legal research software, such as Westlaw
Proficiency in drafting judicial forms and basic legal pleadings, such as client declarations and discovery documents, with minimal oversight
Proficiency with common office technology, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office tools
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range: $90,000 – $120,000, based on experience

Elevate Community Center (“Elevate”) is a non-profit legal aid organization located in Santa Clara, CA, renowned for its commitment to serving low-income individuals and families. Elevate provides legal services in general civil litigation, including but not limited to domestic violence/family law, criminal record clearance, tenants’ rights, legal services for small businesses, and general civil litigation. Elevate was recognized as 2023 “Nonprofit of the Year” by the Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits, and received Santa Clara University School of Law’s 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Award.
Location: Santa Clara, CA, with some remote work possibilities.
Job Description:
This position offers the attorney ample opportunities for court appearances, extensive client interaction, and the chance to present legal information and conduct workshops for public stakeholders. The ideal candidate will thrive in a challenging and fast-paced work environment, demonstrating eagerness to learn, receptiveness to feedback, and high organizational skills. Key responsibilities include providing legal representation and advice, managing a varied caseload, and contributing to the firm’s mission of delivering superior legal services to underserved communities.
Elevate attorneys generally work across all of our practice areas (domestic violence/family law, criminal record clearance, tenants’ rights, legal services for small businesses, and general civil litigation). Prior experience in these practice areas is not required, but strong willingness to learn is essential.
