Job Summary
The Litigation Support Assistant plays a vital role in assisting attorneys with case preparation and management by providing technical and organizational support throughout the litigation process. This position involves handling electronic discovery, managing case files, and ensuring the integrity and accessibility of case-related data. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of litigation procedures, technical proficiency with e-discovery tools, and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the collection, processing, and review of electronic documents, including emails, notice of hearings, minutes of hearings, medical documents, and multimedia files, using e-discovery software and tools. File and serve court documents.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed, indexed, and accessible. Assist with preparing, coordinating, scheduling, and organizing case materials for depositions, hearings, and trials.
Adding depositions, hearings, etc. to calendar
Serving orders
Adding deposition transcripts to files
Confirming PQME/AME attendance; sending confirmation letters
Pulling Panels per Labor Code.
Opening new files from clients; filing Notices
Light dictations including merging and sending to clients
Coordinate the production of documents and evidence for discovery, including responding to subpoenas and requests from opposing counsel. Sort and upload medical reports from clients.
Provide technical support for litigation-related software and systems. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to case data and e-discovery tools.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements regarding the handling and storage of evidence and confidential information.
Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other legal staff to support case preparation, scheduling, and strategy development. Coordinate with external vendors, opposing counsel, and experts as needed.
Perform administrative tasks such as managing calendars, arranging meetings, and handling correspondence. Ensure the smooth operation of the legal office.
Train and support staff on litigation support tools and procedures.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in litigation support, or a similar role within a legal environment.
Strong understanding of litigation procedures and legal terminology.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with data security and privacy laws, as well as best practices for electronic evidence handling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 – $30.00 per hour
