As we expand our footprint in the B2B and B2C coffee industry, we require a skilled Junior Legal Officer to support our growing legal and compliance needs. The selected candidate will play a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance, contract management, and risk mitigation strategies, particularly concerning food laws, legal metrology, and consumer protection laws.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Management & Legal Drafting
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, vendor agreements, marketing and promotional contracts, and supply chain agreements to safeguard the company’s interests.
Maintain and manage the contract repository (work on CLM tool).
Provide legal opinions and guidance on contractual obligations and risks.
2. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
Ensure compliance with Legal Metrology Act, FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India), ASCI (Advertising Standards Council of India), Privacy and Consumer Protection laws, and other applicable regulations.
Advise on product labelling, packaging, marketing communications, and ethical promotion in compliance with food and consumer protection laws.
Track and update internal stakeholders on amendments and new legal developments impacting the company’s operations.
3. Risk Assessment & Legal Research
Conduct legal risk assessments on products, agreements, and advertising to mitigate business risks and liabilities.
Conduct legal research on key industry developments, case laws, and regulatory updates.
Assist in preparing legal reports and compliance checklists.
4. Internal & External Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, R&D, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Sales to ensure compliance in business activities.
Liaise with external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and industry associations for legal matters.
Conduct awareness and training sessions for internal teams on legal and compliance topics.
Key Requirements
✅ Education: LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university or a Master’s degree (LL.M.) in Corporate/Business Law.
✅ Experience: 0–1 years PQE (Freshers with strong legal internships will be considered).
✅ Legal Expertise: Exposure to research and drafting.
✅ Skills Required:
Excellent communication (oral & written).
Strong collaboration, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
