About the role
We are working with a commercial MNC seeking a junior legal counsel (1-3 PQE) to join its in-house legal team in Malaysia. This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to gain broad exposure to in-house legal work in a fast-paced, international business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including service agreements and operational contracts
- Provide day-to-day legal support to business and operational teams
- Assist with legal and contractual matters across regional stakeholders
- Support general business-as-usual legal work and internal projects
- Contribute to legal process improvements and contract standardisation initiatives
- Exposure to technology-related matters where relevant
Requirements
- 1-3 years’ post-qualification experience in corporate/commercial or related practice areas
- Strong drafting, contract review, and negotiation skills
- Mandarin language capability is advantageous but not essential
- Commercially minded with a practical, solutions-oriented approach
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
