Overview:
Our client is an international business with a strong footprint across the UK and Europe, operating in a dynamic and fast-evolving sector. The company has experienced steady growth and has recently expanded through a number of strategic acquisitions. As the organisation continues to scale, it is seeking to appoint a Junior Legal Counsel to support the General Counsel across a broad range of legal and commercial matters.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused solicitor to gain wide-ranging exposure and play a key role in the legal operations of a lean, high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
Assist the General Counsel in providing timely and pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
Draft, negotiate and review a variety of commercial agreements including supplier contracts, consultancy arrangements, NDAs and more.
Support on M&A activity and post-acquisition integration from a legal perspective.
Contribute to corporate governance, compliance and risk management processes.
Assist in the development and maintenance of internal legal documentation, templates and policies.
Monitor changes in relevant legislation and assess the impact on the business.
Candidate Profile:
Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with around 2 years’ PQE, ideally gained in private practice or an in-house environment.
Solid grounding in commercial contracts and a keen interest in broader business and corporate legal matters.
Proactive, adaptable and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
Excellent communication, drafting and stakeholder engagement skills.
A team player with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.
