Emad Energy SA is a dynamic player in the global energy trading market. Headquartered in Geneva, specialized in the sourcing, logistics, and distribution of oil and oil petroleum products.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Legal Counsel to join our team during an exciting phase of growth.In this role, you will provide legal support across our trading operations, ensuring that all contracts and transactions align with international regulations and company standards. You will work closely with traders, finance and operators, and senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts (Sale & Purchase Agreements, Charter Parties, and Trade Finance documents, MOUs and NDAs).
Assisting in the monitoring of regulatory developments in the energy sector and international sanctions.
Updating internal company's polices.
Supporting the KYC, compliance and onboarding processes.
Assisting in the management of potential disputes on quantity – quality – demurrage claims, and insurance matters.
Providing general legal research to support strategic decision-making.
Your Skills:
Education: Master’s degree in Law (MLaw) from a top-tier university. A specialization in International Trade, Maritime Law is highly preferred.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience within a legal department of a trading house, a shipping company, or a law firm specializing in commodities.
Skills: Strong understanding of Incoterms 2020, shipping law, and trade finance instruments (Letters of Credit).
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory (written and spoken). Proficiency in French or other languages is a significant advantage.
