Job Summary

The Junior Counsel will assist in providing legal guidance and support across various business functions. Reporting to the Direct of Human Capital, this individual will help ensure legal compliance, mitigate risks, draft and review contracts, and support the organization in making informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to provide guidance on corporate matters.

Contract Review & Drafting: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company’s interests.

Compliance & Regulatory Support: Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant regulations, assisting in compliance initiatives and internal audits.

Dispute Resolution & Litigation Support: Manage litigation in all pre-trial stages, and work with external counsel and internal teams to support litigation, dispute resolution, and risk management.

Corporate Governance: Support corporate governance matters, including maintaining corporate records, preparing board resolutions, and ensuring compliance with reporting obligations.

Employment & Labor Law: Provide legal guidance on HR matters, including employee relations, policies, and compliance with labor laws.

Intellectual Property & Data Protection: Assist in protecting company intellectual property and ensuring compliance with data privacy laws.

Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and proactively propose solutions to mitigate exposure.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with business teams to understand legal implications of projects, initiatives, and transactions.

General Legal Support: Provide day-to-day legal support on a wide range of matters as required.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Licensed to practice law in Texas (or ability to obtain licensure promptly).

2-3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department (internships or clerkships may be considered).

Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Excellent contract negotiation and drafting abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience in Solar is a plus.
