ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.
Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
This position is contingent upon the successful acquisition of additional funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on the availability of resources.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Consider joining our immigrant serving agency temporarily by using your administrative gifts that will give you assurance that your work contributes to changing people’s lives. This position is the first face and voice with whom immigrants in our community will interact and you can help make sure they are received with welcome and dignity. This position will offer administrative clerical support for the World Relief Chicagoland’s Immigration Legal Services (ILS) in its Carol Stream location. This position must be filled by someone who is completely bilingual in English and Spanish both spoken and written. This is a 28 hour position Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday half day 1-5pm.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate in-person and telephone intake of new and existing clients
Answer and screen all incoming phone calls for the DuPage office and direct appropriately
Manage/direct outgoing and incoming mail for ILS staff
Provide additional administrative support to ILS Legal Representatives as needed

Cross-cultural experience including cross-cultural communication skills
Ability to handle a large call volume
Excellent problem-solving skills and flexibility to work in a frequently changing environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong self-starter skills and a desire to learn and grow
Spanish/English fluency required
Flexibility to keep updated on changes to programs
Priority is given to applicants willing to make a multi-year commitment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to translate documents from Spanish to English and English to Spanish
Strong inter-personal and cross-cultural communication skills exercised through previous cross-cultural experience
Adaptability in the midst of constant change
Committed to welcome the immigrant community, the general public, and other staff •Highly organized and a willingness to multitask
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
Associates degree preferred
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
