Job Overview

Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a Knowledge and Innovation Attorney (KIA) to support 1–2 of its litigation practice groups. This position sits within the firm’s Practice Innovation & Legal Solutions Department and reports to the Director of Knowledge and Innovation.

The KIA will lead knowledge management and innovation efforts within the assigned practice groups, serving as a legal knowledge resource while managing projects that enhance attorney efficiency and client service. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining model documents, internal and client-facing materials, capturing and leveraging experience data, tracking legal and market developments, and supporting training and technology adoption efforts.

Responsibilities

Knowledge & Data Management

Assess and address knowledge management needs for assigned litigation groups.
Maintain matter/experience data using internal systems (e.g., Foundation).
Draft and update model documents, templates, internal guides, and client materials.
Contribute to and curate thought leadership and client-facing content.
Support adoption and maintenance of the firm’s Knowledge Management system.
Share legal and market developments with attorneys.
Deliver training and coordinate practice-specific programming in partnership with Talent Development.
Collaborate with attorneys and peers across practice groups to share best practices.

Technology & Innovation

Identify workflow challenges and recommend technology solutions.
Lead pilots and adoption initiatives for new legal technology tools.
Collaborate with legal tech and innovation teams to align with firmwide strategy.
Monitor trends in legal innovation and maintain vendor relationships.
Contribute to innovation-related policies and process improvements.

Qualifications & Skills

Law degree and active bar admission (required).
At least 5 years of law firm litigation experience (complex litigation, IP, or labor & employment preferred).
Experience in legal knowledge management or innovation roles (preferred).
Strong understanding of litigation workflows and tools.
Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and legal tech platforms.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results independently.
Effective communicator with a collaborative and tech-forward mindset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $205,000.00 – $280,000.00 per year
