Legal Assistant Responsibilities:

Client Communication: Speak directly with clients to keep them informed, answer their questions, and ensure they feel supported throughout the process.
Open claims with insurance companies, health insurance subrogation departments, and MediCAL/CARE.
Request police reports, medical records, and pre-morbs records to ensure all necessary documentation is collected.
Schedule doctor appointments and arrange rides for clients to medical visits.
Verify balances with medical providers and manage client account inquiries.
Assist in preparing files to submit to demand writers for case evaluation.
Provide administrative and organizational support to attorneys in case management.
Draft and file legal documents, including correspondence, motions, and pleadings.
Conduct research to support case preparation and gather necessary evidence.
Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, court hearings, and other legal proceedings.
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other legal staff to ensure smooth case progression.

Qualifications & Requirements:

At least 2-3 years of experience in a Legal setting and desire to pursue a legal career.
Bilingual in Spanish is a must.
Ability to type at least 60 words per minute.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage a large volume of cases.
Motivated, go-getter attitude with a positive, can-do outlook.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers.
Ability to provide excellent service to clients, ensuring they feel supported and informed at every stage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software.
A team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently when necessary.
