Leading tech company is seeking and IP / Legal Ops Paralegal to support the Trademark, Marketing, and Copyright team. The role is remote within the United States.
The workload will be split approximately 50/50 between copyright-focused paralegal duties (~20 hours/week) and legal operations / project-management backlog work (~20 hours/week). The team uses Slack as the primary workflow and review platform
Scope of Work
Title: Legal Ops/IP Paralegal (contract)

Pay Rate: $50 – $70 / hour
Responsibilities
- Provide full-time paralegal coverage maintaining continuity of existing workflows and stakeholder relationships.
- Perform copyright paralegal tasks (~20 hours/week): manage DMCA escalation workflow (offshore team handles routine takedowns; expect ~1 hour/day of escalations), assist with registrations and documentation, support content review and clearance processes for marketing and TV ads.
- Address legal ops and project-management backlog (~20 hours/week): triage stalled projects, update trackers, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (creative, marketing, studios, offshore legal teams), help run status meetings, and drive projects to completion.
- Operate primarily in Slack for intake, content review, approvals, and stakeholder communication; maintain timely, clear Slack-based status updates.
- Document processes and handoffs clearly to enable smooth transition back to the returning paralegal; prepare concise status reports and escalation notes for leadership as needed.
- Collaborate with offshore teams on routine tasks and escalate only higher-complexity matters.
- Adhere to IP, privacy, and corporate policies while working with creative content and external partners.
Required Qualifications
- Paralegal experience with proven ability to manage day-to-day paralegal tasks independently.
- Demonstrated legal operations or project-management experience (tracking, triage, stakeholder coordination, running meetings to closure).
- Expertise using Slack for workflows and communications; comfortable building and managing Slack-based processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to start on short notice and commit to 40 hours/week for the coverage period; available remotely within the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Copyright experience, including familiarity with DMCA takedown processes and content clearance for marketing/TV ads.
- Prior experience supporting IP teams (trademark, copyright, marketing-focused legal work) or working with creative/studios teams.
- Experience with common project-management and collaboration tools in addition to Slack.
- Paralegal certification or relevant legal education is a plus.
