Summary
As an Attorney and Legal Manager at Lopez McHugh, LLP, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing legal operations and ensuring our firm’s commitment to excellence in representation. This position is essential for managing case strategies and supporting our mission to advocate for justice on behalf of our clients.
Responsibilities
Oversee legal operations and manage case strategies for medical negligence and other personal injury cases.
Conduct pre-litigation case workups, including thorough legal and medical research to support case development and strategy.
Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Conduct depositions.
Maintain firm’s liability insurance policy and ensure compliance with the current policy as well as with relevant laws and regulations in all legal practices.
Oversee handling of intakes and referrals from various sources, assisting in the development of referral relationship and marketing plans.
Training, coaching and counseling of administrative staff; assist in hiring/interviewing.
Developing and maintaining procedures for case handling as need change.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with a valid license to practice law in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
Strong leadership and management skills with ability to build productive relationships, communicate effectively, and work in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively for various legal documents.
Experience with medical negligence or personal injury law is preferred but not required.
Must be flexible in adjusting to new tasks as needs change.
