Interim Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel – Fintech / Payments
Location: London (hybrid)
A global fintech business is looking to appoint an Interim Legal Counsel to support its legal team during a particularly busy period of growth and change.
This is a broad, commercially focused in-house role supporting teams across payments, partnerships, product and wider business operations. The position would suit a lawyer who is comfortable stepping into a fast-moving environment and getting up to speed quickly with minimal hand-holding.
The work is likely to include:
- Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial agreements
- Advising on partnerships, customer and supplier arrangements
- Supporting product and regulatory initiatives
- Working closely with compliance, risk and operational teams
- Providing day-to-day legal support to senior stakeholders
- Assisting on international and cross-border matters where required
The team is collaborative, pragmatic and business-facing, with plenty of exposure across the organisation.
Ideal background:
- England & Wales qualified lawyer
- 5+ PQE
- Strong commercial contracts experience
- Fintech, payments or broader financial services experience preferred
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Previous in-house experience beneficial
The business is open to lawyers from both private practice and in-house backgrounds, provided they can operate commercially and hit the ground running.
Immediate or short-notice availability would be advantageous.
