Cana Consulting is a multinational company operating within the energy, infrastructure and project development sector, is seeking an experienced legal professional to join its regional legal team on an interim basis. This engagement is expected to support a period of increased project activity and contracting workload, with an initial term of 6 months and potential for extension depending on business requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Legal, Procurement and Project teams to support the review, negotiation and execution of a broad range of commercial and project-related agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, draft and negotiate procurement, supply chain, subcontractor and project-related agreements.
  • Support contract execution activities across ongoing project delivery and procurement workstreams.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk allocation, commercial terms and dispute avoidance strategies.
  • Partner closely with Procurement, Supply Chain and Project teams to facilitate efficient contract negotiations and execution.
  • Identify and escalate key legal and commercial risks, while providing practical and business-oriented solutions.
  • Manage multiple contract negotiations simultaneously and drive matters to completion within project timelines.
  • Work collaboratively with senior members of the legal team while operating with a high degree of autonomy.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with approximately 5–10+ years' PQE.
  • Prior experience gained in-house and/or private practice supporting commercial contracting matters.
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, project execution, construction, engineering, infrastructure, energy, offshore, oil & gas, EPC or related project-based industries would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to independently manage negotiations with counterparties.
  • Commercially minded and capable of balancing legal risk with business objectives.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.
  • Able to engage effectively with cross-functional stakeholders across Legal, Procurement and Project teams.

  • Experience reviewing and negotiating:
  • Procurement and supply agreements
  • Subcontractor agreements
  • Services agreements
  • Construction, engineering or project-related contracts
  • General commercial contracts
  • Familiarity with project execution environments and procurement processes within large-scale industrial or infrastructure businesses.
  • Available immediately/short notice
