The Opportunity

An award-winning, highly regarded law firm with a market-leading Data Protection and Technology practice is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing team in Athens.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a privacy and tech law specialist to work at the forefront of GDPR, cybersecurity regulation, NIS2, and AI governance, advising high-profile domestic and international clients on complex regulatory matters.

You will join a collaborative, forward-thinking team known for excellence in privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technology law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on complex data protection, privacy, and technology law matters.
  • Lead or contribute to GDPR compliance projects, including audits, gap analyses, DPIAs, risk assessments, and remediation strategies.
  • Act as Data Protection Officer (DPO) or support DPO engagements for major clients.
  • Provide strategic advice on NIS2, AI Act, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and support clients in investigations, audits, and compliance matters.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to practice development.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Attorney-at-Law in Greece.
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in Privacy, Data Protection, or IT Law.
  • Strong hands-on GDPR compliance experience.
  • LL.M. in Data Protection, Privacy, IT Law, or related field from a leading university (Greece or internationally preferred).
  • Strong understanding of AI regulation, cybersecurity law, and digital compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and advisory skills.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management capability.
  • Commercial mindset with strong client relationship skills.
  • Fluent English; additional languages beneficial.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • IAPP certification (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM) advantageous.
  • Excellent professional references highly desirable.
