The Opportunity
An award-winning, highly regarded law firm with a market-leading Data Protection and Technology practice is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing team in Athens.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a privacy and tech law specialist to work at the forefront of GDPR, cybersecurity regulation, NIS2, and AI governance, advising high-profile domestic and international clients on complex regulatory matters.
You will join a collaborative, forward-thinking team known for excellence in privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technology law.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on complex data protection, privacy, and technology law matters.
- Lead or contribute to GDPR compliance projects, including audits, gap analyses, DPIAs, risk assessments, and remediation strategies.
- Act as Data Protection Officer (DPO) or support DPO engagements for major clients.
- Provide strategic advice on NIS2, AI Act, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and support clients in investigations, audits, and compliance matters.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to practice development.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Attorney-at-Law in Greece.
- Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in Privacy, Data Protection, or IT Law.
- Strong hands-on GDPR compliance experience.
- LL.M. in Data Protection, Privacy, IT Law, or related field from a leading university (Greece or internationally preferred).
- Strong understanding of AI regulation, cybersecurity law, and digital compliance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and advisory skills.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management capability.
- Commercial mindset with strong client relationship skills.
- Fluent English; additional languages beneficial.
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
- IAPP certification (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM) advantageous.
- Excellent professional references highly desirable.
