THE OPPORTUNITY:

As an e-Filing Specialist, you will be responsible for electronically filing documents in state and federal courts. In this position, you will be part of a regional and national docketing team that provides support to the firm’s Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, Seattle and other domestic offices.

Daily Schedule: 11:00 am – 7:00 pm

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

On any given day, you will be working with your colleagues on a variety of requests and projects. You will:

Know applicable court rules on how to electronically file documents in federal court using the cm/ecf system. When needed, file documents electronically after hours.
Be able to file documents in State and appellate courts.
Have subject matter expertise on the requirements to e-File documents in federal and state courts across the country.
Act as a liaison between the courts and the firm’s attorneys on procedural and technical matters.
Respond to procedural inquiries from attorneys.
Know how to research court case information to maintain an accurate record.
Assist with special projects as assigned by the regional coordinator and the Director and Managing Attorney, Docket.
Serve as a back-up for overflow docketing requests, when not e-Filing.

YOU HAVE:

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
1 – 3 years of experience as a docket specialist. Ideally, with exposure to litigation in a law firm environment.
Prior experience working in a law firm environment preferred.
Proficiency with e-Filing documents in state and federal courts.
Experience with CompuLaw is a plus.
Proficiency with rules-based docketing.
The ability to interpret and analyze information.
Computer proficient with advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) required.

The full-time salary range for this role is $73,000 to $85,000 annually, which is based on a 40-hour work week.

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role in the locations listed above at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
