As an insurance defense attorney within our Bodily Injury litigation team, you’ll provide legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or the Progressive Insurance Companies before courts and arbitration panels in all aspects of litigation. You will handle cases from beginning to end, prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, trial briefs and negotiate settlements. You will also work closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely reports on litigation, ensuring all appropriate defenses are leveraged to reach positive outcomes.
Additionally, you’ll analyze written discovery, depositions, medical records and assess the value of claims to determine risk exposure.
This is a hybrid position with occasional travel to an office for meetings and/or training.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal representation to Progressive insureds and the Progressive Insurance Companies before courts and arbitration panels.
- Handle cases from beginning to end.
- Prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, trial briefs.
- Negotiate settlements.
- Work closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely reports on litigation.
- Leverage appropriate defenses to reach positive outcomes.
- Analyze written discovery, depositions, medical records and assess claim values to determine risk exposure.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM).
- Minimum of 2 years general/auto litigation experience.
- Admitted to practice law in the state of Tennessee.
Compensation
- Salary: $133,679 – $146,900 per year.
- Gainshare annual cash incentive up to 40% of eligible earnings based on company performance.
