In-House Real Estate Attorney (Transactional & Landlord-Tenant) Jobs in Great Neck, NY at Phantom Capital LLC

We are seeking an experienced, proactive In-House Real Estate Attorney to oversee and manage our growing real estate portfolio. This dynamic role requires a well-rounded legal professional who can seamlessly handle complex real estate transactions while actively managing landlord-tenant matters, leasing, and operational legal strategy.

You will work directly with ownership and management to safeguard assets, streamline deal closings, and resolve property-level disputes efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Real Estate Transactions & Acquisitions

Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements (PSAs), deeds, financing documents, title insurance, and closing disclosures.

Manage due diligence processes for new property acquisitions and dispositions.

Coordinate closely with lenders, brokers, title companies, escrow agents, and outside counsel to ensure smooth deal closings.

Landlord-Tenant & Property Management Law

Oversee commercial and residential landlord-tenant relationships, lease drafting, renewals, modifications, and enforcement.

Manage eviction proceedings, non-pay/holdover notices, and represent or coordinate representation in Housing Court matters.

Provide legal guidance on regulatory compliance, fair housing standards, tenant disputes, and local municipal property codes.

Draft cure notices, default notices, and termination agreements.

General Corporate & Risk Management

Maintain operating agreements, LLC structures, and corporate governance for holding entities.

Serve as the primary internal legal advisor on day-to-day property operational decisions and dispute resolution.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Bar Admission: Active license to practice law in good standing in [State, e.g., New York].

Experience: 3–7+ years of dedicated experience in real estate transactional law and landlord-tenant law.

Strong track record of drafting, negotiating, and closing transactional deals independently.

Practical familiarity with landlord-tenant courts, eviction processes, and property management regulations.

Excellent written/verbal communication skills and a business-minded approach to risk management.
