In-House Paralegal Jobs in Sumner, WA at King County Restoration LLC
King County Restoration is seeking an experienced in-house Paralegal to support the legal, financial, and operational needs of a growing restoration and general contracting company.
This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable working with construction documentation, active disputes, liens, collections, insurance matters, contracts, and attorney-directed litigation support.
The Paralegal will work closely with company leadership and outside counsel to keep legal files organized, deadlines monitored, documentation complete, and pending matters moving forward. This position does not provide legal advice and will perform substantive legal support under the direction of an attorney when required.
Legal File & Litigation Support
- Maintain organized files for lawsuits, claims, disputes, liens, collections, and other legal matters
- Assist outside counsel with document collection, discovery responses, exhibits, timelines, and case summaries
- Track court, attorney, response, filing, and internal production deadlines
- Prepare organized document packages and factual summaries for attorney review
- Coordinate signatures, notarization, service, filing support, and delivery of legal documents as directed
Construction, Lien & Collection Support
- Assist with preliminary notices, intent-to-lien notices, construction liens, releases, waivers, and related records
- Compile contracts, scopes, invoices, payment histories, change orders, communications, and project records for collections or disputes
- Track statutory and internal deadlines related to lien and collection matters and promptly escalate upcoming deadlines
- Coordinate with Finance, project managers, clients, subcontractors, and outside counsel to gather complete job documentation
Contracts & Compliance
- Assist with drafting and revising contracts, releases, settlement documents, subcontractor agreements, authorizations, and standard company forms for attorney or leadership review
- Maintain current templates and executed agreements in an organized document system
- Research and summarize procedural, licensing, insurance, and construction-related requirements as requested
- Support responses to subpoenas, records requests, insurance inquiries, and regulatory correspondence
Administrative Coordination & Reporting
- Maintain a current legal matters tracker showing status, deadlines, responsible parties, and next steps
- Schedule calls and meetings with attorneys, consultants, witnesses, clients, and internal team members
- Prepare concise updates for leadership on open legal matters and outstanding documentation
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience
- At least 3 years of paralegal or legal support experience preferred
- Construction law, civil litigation, insurance, real estate, lien, or collections experience strongly preferred
- Strong legal research, writing, proofreading, and document organization skills
- Comfortable reviewing contracts, invoices, project records, correspondence, and detailed payment histories
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow up persistently without losing accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, electronic signatures, and cloud-based file systems

The ideal candidate is practical, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-moving construction environment where the facts and supporting documents may be spread across several systems. This person can build a clear timeline, identify missing information, keep outside counsel and leadership updated, and follow matters through to completion while respecting the boundaries of the paralegal role.

Work Location: In person – Sumner, WA
Pay: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
