DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a pragmatic, innovative and driven financial services compliance professional to support Amazon Payments, Inc. (“API”), a FinCEN registered money service business operating in multiple US state jurisdictions as a licensed money transmitter service. This role will focus on the further development of the API Compliance Risk Program given current and future business products and services.
Key job responsibilities
The role will work with a cross-functional team of software developers, analysts and investigators, compliance and legal teams, driving Compliance Risk Management initiatives, balancing cost and customer experience objectives. The role will also support engagement with independent auditors and regulators.
Contribute to and maintain the policies, procedures and risk assessments that support the Compliance Risk Management Framework.
Monitor for new regulatory developments and issues that may pose compliance risk.
Collaborate on new control implementation and revisions to existing controls, working with legal, business, operations and technical teams to define compliance requirements and manage emerging risk.
Support examination and external audit processes, engaging internally to ensure readiness and externally to present compliance controls.
Prepare reports to senior compliance stakeholders with timely and actionable information concerning the health of compliance programs.
Promote a culture of compliance, proactively engaging peers and stakeholders across business, operations, and technology teams to educate on compliance concerns.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
5-7 years of experience in compliance or risk program management within traditional or non-traditional financial services
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate complex issues for consumption by technical and non-technical audiences
Relentless drive for results, even in ambiguous and fast paced environments.
Demonstrated ability to challenge the status-quo and champion best-in-class solutions and problem-solving
Ability to work within a matrix environment and cross functionally with operations and technology functions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional certification such as CAMS, CRCM, or CRP
Payments or e-commerce background
Familiarity with the 3 Lines-of-Defense risk model

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
