Position Summary:

Responsible for providing legal and employment law support to the company in South Africa, including contract review, legal advice on employment-related matters, contractual obligations, and general corporate legal matters. Coordinates with external parties such as vendors, government authorities, and external legal counsel. Represents the company in labour disputes, employment-related litigation, and criminal matters where applicable, unless otherwise directed. Works closely with HR Business Partners to ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and regulatory requirements. Serves as the company's in-house subject matter expert on employment and labour law in South Africa and is responsible for researching, developing, and delivering training to HR professionals and line management on labour legislation, employment practices, and other legal matters affecting the business. Maintains ownership of providing regular legal and regulatory updates to the HR team.


Legal Compliance and Advisor

  • yEnsures company compliance with the Labour Relations Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Employment Equity Act (EEA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and other applicable South African employment legislation
