As a key member of the Blue Bridge Financial Executive team, the In-house Counsel will be responsible for drafting documents, court filings and providing strategic legal advice to senior management. The position will actively manage outside counsel as needed to drive cost-effective results for Blue Bridge.

The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is based at the corporate headquarters in Reston, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

Collections Activities:

Lead company pursuit of the collection of delinquent accounts, including complaint drafting, coordination of court activity and negotiation of settlements.

Recommendation to senior management on account collection activities.

Management of national network of external counsel including directing all activities and overseeing billing.

Commercial Contracts and Contract Management:

Draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts, including loan sale and servicing, IT (including licensing), and other general matters.

Serve on the leadership team, providing counsel to the company.

Legal Operations:

Lead Legal Operations initiatives, including the areas of budgeting, business continuity planning, training, technology solutions, and other areas.

Oversee Company Compliance with applicable rules and regulations, including licensure and usury requirements.

General Litigation & Other Responsibilities:

Manage all Company litigation activities under guidance from executive management.

Successful Candidate Requirements:

BA/BS and JD Degrees required from an accredited institution.

3-5 years of law firm and/or significant in-house legal experience.

Ability to work and interact with corporate management, and others, at all levels.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks simultaneously.

Positive, collaborative, can-do attitude.

Strong negotiation, consultative and facilitation skills with the ability to effectively interact with all internal and external stakeholders.

Excellent judgement and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Ability to identify and use the most efficient and effective legal resources to complete the work in a timely and cost effective manner.

Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
