As they scale, they’re adding a sharp and business-minded In-House Counsel to their executive team—someone who thrives in dynamic environments and knows how to balance legal precision with practical, business-first solutions.
About the Role: In-House Counsel
This is a hands-on, high-impact legal leadership role where you’ll oversee all legal affairs related to employment law, contracts, risk management, compliance, and litigation. You’ll work directly with the CEO and executive team to support the business through strategic initiatives, legal operations, and sound risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (MSAs, NDAs, vendor agreements, leases, etc.)
Advise on employment/labor law issues including wage & hour, worker classification, investigations, and EEOC matters
Represent the company in litigation and pre-litigation matters (or partner with outside counsel)
Ensure multi-state compliance across employment laws and staffing regulations
Conduct internal investigations and develop risk mitigation strategies
Maintain handbooks, policies, and internal legal documentation
Support M&A activity through legal due diligence and strategic guidance
Provide legal insight across departments (HR, Ops, Finance, Sales)
Deliver legal training to internal teams to promote compliance and best practices
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Texas (in good standing)
5+ years of legal experience, preferably in employment law, staffing, or related sectors
Litigation experience is strongly preferred
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Proactive, independent, and solution-oriented approach
Bonus Points For:
Prior in-house legal experience (especially in staffing or high-volume labor industries)
Knowledge of I-9, E-Verify, OSHA, FCRA, FLSA, and other employment compliance frameworks
Multi-state operational support experience
