Our well-established office, led by Attorney Loyst Fletcher, Jr., is seeking a self-sufficient employee who is eager to gain hands-on experience in cases, specifically in Probate and Personal Injury matters. This role presents a unique opportunity to work closely with Mr. Fletcher, a Cooley alumnus and a dedicated practitioner of law with over four decades of experience.
Position Details:
Flexible Schedule: The position can be adjusted to fit your school commitments, with potential full-time opportunities in the summer.
Work Environment: Private office space and computer access will be provided.
Independent Work: This position is mostly self-guided, allowing you to work independently with minimal supervision.
Mentorship: Receive hands-on instructional information and oversight through periodic review meetings with Mr. Fletcher.
Tasks: Assist with legal research and the preparation of pleadings, with weekly assignments to foster both mentorship and autonomy.

Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and case analysis related to law.
Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents and case files.
Manage case documentation and ensure compliance with legal standards.
Utilize Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw for effective information gathering.
Communicate with clients and other legal professionals to gather information.
Support attorneys in trial preparation and case management tasks.
Maintain organized records and assist with administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
Strong legal research skills
Experience in legal administrative tasks and document management
Experience in support and case management
Excellent writing and proofreading abilities
Familiarity with law and related legal processes
Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organizational skills
Knowledge of estate planning and family law is a plus

Pay: $15.00 – $30.00 per hour
