Job description
At Copeland, Stair, Valz & Lovell (“CSVL”), our culture drives our performance. As a civil litigation defense attorney at CSVL, you’ll be a part of a team representing professionals and other defendants or respondents involved in professional liability cases and similar disputes in litigation and arbitration. You will be handling cases from beginning to end, including the preparation of pleadings and motions and participation in all aspects of discovery, dispute resolution/mediation and trial. Additionally, you’ll work closely with CSVL team members to ensure all appropriate defenses are leveraged to reach positive outcomes.
Essential Job Requirements:
3-5 years as a practicing attorney
Admission and good standing with the State Bar of Georgia and the Federal courts of Georgia (minimum Northern District).
Required Education & Professional Licensure
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Georgia
Preferred Skills
2-4 years civil litigation experience and preferably medical malpractice experience.
Experience with insurance defense matters and meeting billing guidelines.
Ability to work autonomously as well as with a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to identify risk with strong understanding of all applicable ethical duties.
Strong organizational skills with the ability and desire to manage multiple priorities and caseloads.
Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
