Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a passion for the legal field, particularly in areas such as family law, securities law, and tribal law regulations. This role involves supporting attorneys in various tasks, ensuring that all legal documents are prepared accurately and efficiently.
Duties
Assist attorneys with legal research utilizing tools such as Lexis-Nexis.
Draft, proofread, and manage legal documents including contracts and pleadings.
Maintain case files and ensure all documentation is organized and up-to-date.
Conduct project management tasks to ensure timely completion of legal projects.
Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case status.
Prepare for court hearings by organizing exhibits and relevant documentation.
Collaborate with team members to support various areas of law including family law and securities law.
Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may affect cases.
Experience
Previous experience working in a law office is preferred.
Familiarity with PCLaw or similar legal management software is a plus.
Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail in legal drafting.
Experience in project management within a legal context is advantageous.
Knowledge of tribal law regulations is desirable but not mandatory.
