Duties:
-Represent Detroit police officers charged with criminal misconduct as a direct result of police action.
-Appearances at arraignments, disciplinary hearings, Internal Affairs investigations, Office of the Chief Investigator investigations, Chief’s hearings, Trial Board Hearings, and any other court proceedings for which legal representation is required.
– Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation
Experience:
– Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
– Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
– Strong knowledge of legal principles and procedures
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice to clients
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Skills:
– Legal administrative skills, including document management and case organization
– Litigation skills, including courtroom experience and trial preparation
– Strong negotiation skills to effectively represent clients’ interests
– Research skills to gather relevant information and analyze legal precedents
– Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence
