Helping Hand Legal Support, Inc. is recruiting on behalf of a client, a boutique immigration law firm in Hawthorne, California dedicated to defending and protecting the rights of immigrants.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Immigration Attorney to join the firm’s team. This is an excellent opportunity to work directly alongside a lead attorney with 20 years of experience in a supportive and collaborative office environment.
The ideal candidate is a strong advocate who is comfortable appearing before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), preparing persuasive legal arguments, working directly with clients, and managing immigration matters in a fast-paced environment.
Position Overview:
The Immigration Attorney will represent clients in removal and other proceedings before the EOIR.
The position combines courtroom advocacy, legal research and writing, case preparation, and direct client engagement. The selected attorney will work closely with the firm’s lead attorney and EOIR paralegal to prepare and manage cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients and make appearances before the EOIR
- Prepare persuasive legal arguments, briefs, and motions
- Conduct thorough legal research and legal writing
- Collaborate closely with the firm’s EOIR paralegal to prepare and manage cases
- Meet and consult regularly with clients in the office
- Provide attentive, responsive, and professional representation to clients
- Manage assigned cases while working both independently and collaboratively with the legal team
Qualifications:
- Active license to practice law and in good standing with the bar of any U.S. state
- California Bar admission is not required; immigration practice before the EOIR is authorized for attorneys licensed and in good standing in any U.S. state
- Fluency in Spanish, both speaking and writing, is required
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Strong oral advocacy and communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage a caseload
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to excellent client service and advancing immigrant rights
Compensation: Starting salary: $120,000+ per year
Compensation is commensurate with experience and may increase depending on the candidate’s qualifications and professional background.
