Immigration Attorney (Removal Defense)
PizanoLaw, P.C. is seeking to hire a full-time Removal Defense Immigration Attorney. We are a small, but growing, removal defense/family immigration firm located in San Jose, California. Our mission is to provide compassionate representation and prevent the separation of families. Candidates for the position are expected to share our mission.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of removal defense immigration law experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage caseload independently;
- Prepare petitions, applications, brief, motions and other filings;
- Represent clients in removal proceedings (detained and non-detained), including asylum, cancellation of removal, and other forms of relief;
- Conduct legal research;
- Explain immigration concepts and present case strategy to monolingual Spanish-speaking potential clients; and
- Work collaboratively with managing attorney and staff.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate degree and active bar admission in any state;
- Minimum of 2 years of immigration law experience is required;
- Strong legal writing;
- Ability to manage deadlines;
- Interest and passion for immigration law; and
- Spanish and English fluency, spoken and written, is required.
Pay:
- $110,000 to $160,000 (annually)
