We are seeking a HSE Specialist to join our HSE Department to develop, implement and monitor health and safety related program(s)/initiative(s), for all the Project(s) (as the case may be), applicable both to Employee(s) as well as the Stakeholder(s), to prevent/eliminate injury(s) or health impairment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs in compliance with legal, organizational, and client requirements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace health, safety, and environmental risks, ensuring a safe working environment across project sites.
- Conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and site visits, preparing reports and following up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis (5 Whys), implementing corrective actions, and sharing lessons learned to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure environmental compliance, including LEED requirements, hazardous waste management, air and water quality monitoring, and environmental permit compliance.
- Maintain regulatory compliance and HSE management systems, ensuring adherence to company standards, client requirements, and Management of Change processes.
- Provide HSE guidance, coaching, and technical support to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to promote safe work practices.
- Monitor and resolve HSE non-compliance, conduct High-Risk Activity (HRA) workshops, and promote continuous safety awareness across projects.
- Collect, analyze, and report HSE performance data, preparing accurate reports and recommending improvements to enhance safety performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational risks, strengthen safety culture, and develop HSE champions across projects.
- Supervise and develop team members by organizing work, providing on-the-job training, and ensuring compliance with risk assessments and safe operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards, maintaining accurate documentation and supporting organizational and client reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field, with a NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, CSP, or equivalent HSE qualification.
- 5+ years of HSE experience in ICT, construction, or data center environments, including multi-site construction, commissioning, and operations.
- Strong knowledge of international HSE standards, legislation, and management systems, including ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, HAZOP, MOC, and other industry best practices.
- Proficiency in HSE reporting, audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and compliance management, with Lead Auditor certification considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of critical infrastructure systems, including UPS, generators, Building Management Systems (BMS), chillers, and Fire Safety Management (FSM).
- Excellent communication, planning, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to mentor teams, prepare reports, and drive a positive safety culture.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and site-focused professional with strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, teamwork, adaptability, and the confidence to intervene and promote safe work practices.
