About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR & Recruiting Specialist to join our team. This pivotal role is responsible for leading local recruitment initiatives, supporting core human resources functions, and ensuring the seamless execution of HR processes across Prairie Band, LLC and its subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will manage the full-cycle recruitment process, focusing on building robust local talent pipelines to meet the organization’s staffing needs. Additionally, this role provides backup support for benefits administration and assists with various HR operations, contributing to a positive employee experience and compliance with applicable policies and regulations. The HR & Recruiting Specialist will play a vital role in attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in recruiting, with proven success in candidate sourcing and relationship building.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook; PowerPoint skills are a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment across multiple entities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, maintaining professionalism and clarity in all interactions.
  • Ability to maintain high confidentiality standards.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and mobility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for designated positions, focusing on local and regional hiring needs.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing requirements, develop job descriptions, and plan workforce strategies.
  • Create and implement effective sourcing strategies utilizing job boards, community outreach, educational institutions, and local partnerships.
  • Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and provide hiring recommendations to ensure quality candidate selection.
  • Coordinate interview schedules, communicate with candidates, and facilitate offer processes.
  • Manage job postings, applicant tracking systems, and pre-employment activities such as background checks and drug screens.
  • Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline, especially for high-turnover and critical roles.
  • Represent the organization at job fairs, community events, and recruiting initiatives to enhance employer branding.
  • Assist in onboarding processes to ensure a positive new hire experience, including orientation and documentation completion.
  • Support managers in employee integration and engagement efforts.
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees, responding to inquiries related to policies, procedures, and HR programs.
  • Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS and ATS systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist with employee status changes, personnel documentation, and file maintenance.
  • Support performance management processes and other HR initiatives as needed.
  • Assist with benefits administration as a backup, including enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Support open enrollment activities and related communication efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, tribal employment laws, including Title 22 requirements.
  • Stay updated on HR and recruiting trends, recommending process improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support special projects and initiatives related to HR and talent management.
