Are you a proactive and people-focused HR professional with retail industry experience? We’re looking for an HR Advisor to join our collaborative People Team at Liberty, where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting with day to day ER and HR operations
As the go-to partner for all things Employee Relations and HR operations, you’ll be working closely with managers across departments—supporting with key processes like absence management, appraisals, audits, and employee lifecycle changes. The HR Advisor will also contribute to adhoc projects.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high quality guidance and support to line managers and employees in developing and shaping people management solutions to achieve business objectives.
With the support and guidance of the People Manager, manage all ER related issues in a timely manner including but not specific to investigations, disciplinaries, grievances and appeals.
Be the first point of contact for all ER related queries and first point of escalation for all payroll queries within their client group.
Manage and update the ER tracker as necessary, ensuring that it is kept up to date and accurate.
To ensure HR invoices are accurately logged on the HR Budget tracker and authorised by the HR Director.
Manage all maternity and paternity requests in line with relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
Process applications for flexible working and other people requests in conjunction with line managers so that decisions are consistent, fair and business needs are met.
Meet with key Managers in the business on a weekly and monthly basis to identify and discuss areas of Employee Relations support.
Support the People Manager in coaching, supporting, mentoring and challenging line managers in the application of HR Policies and practices, provide advice and guidance on HR issues in order to minimise risk to the business.
Working with the People Manager and line managers to complete and track the annual review process to assess the potential of all employees within Liberty so that high potential and mobility are identified, action plans developed to manage that development and future movement so that turnover is minimised.
Review payroll spreadsheets each month, checking for accuracy.
Manage Right to Work processes, ensuring that we have sufficient proof that all employees can work in the UK. Follow up with those employees whose visa is coming to an end.
To support the People Manager in design and delivery of Performance Management training.
Participate in and support the development of HR policy and practice within the business.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Solid HR advisory experience within the retail sector
In-depth knowledge of current UK Employment Law
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
A customer-focused, team-oriented mindset
Confidence to coach and challenge line managers in a supportive way
