Law Firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL & Miami, FL is hiring a legal assistant/paralegal for its immigration practice.
Duties:
Help clients review applications for asylums, petitions, etc.
Maintaining an update calendar and scheduling for the attorney
Serving as a liaison between the client and attorney conducting client interviews
Conduct phone screenings, interviews, and other communications with clients
Input, update, and maintain client information and other data in case management system, create contracts
Communicate regularly with attorneys regarding status of assignments
Ability to maintain discretion and privacy with confidential matters and documents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be fluent in English and Spanish
Must have demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the needs of the low income immigrant community
Must have strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Must have familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
Must have excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
This position requires weekend availability with NO exception.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 – $25.00 per hour
