Title: Teen Court Program Coordinator
Supervisor: Vice President Youth Services
Position Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary: Negotiable
Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of the Teen Court program including day-to-day program operations, compliance with all grant regulations and requirements, reporting to the state, and ensuring that all activities are within state guidelines. Responsible for relationship building within the juvenile justice system as well as with community partners to ensure program success. Plans and executes all activities with youth and their families to achieve the goals outlined within the grant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Adhere to all Teen Court standards as determined by the State of North Carolina
· Recruit, screen, train, and place volunteers
· Perform intake with clients and process referrals from juvenile court counselors
· Maintain and update client files, computer records, and statistics concerning the participation of youth in the Teen Court program
· Communicate with law enforcement and referral sources on a regular basis
· Monitor the progress of youth participating in the Teen Court program to ensure their full participation
· Recruit work sites
· Submit monthly reports and enter client data in the NC ALLIES database
· Ability to work as a team player
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with outside agencies who are directly or indirectly involved with youth participating in the program
· Attend meetings or conferences relevant to the operation of the program upon the supervisor’s approval
· Implement the Teen Court program as outlined in the Teen Court program curriculum
· Commitment to working with children and people from various socio-economic backgrounds
· Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
Minimum associate degree in a human service-related field or a four-year college degree in another field with at least two years experience as a direct service professional in a child-serving program OR a minimum of three years experience in the operation of a project or program and at least two years experience working with at-risk youth and the juvenile justice system.
Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated verbal and written skills.
Knowledge of computers and various software programs.
