Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Healthcare Attorney at Mednevo. The Healthcare Attorney will review, draft, and negotiate a variety of healthcare-related contracts, including provider agreements, technology licensing, vendor contracts, and partnership arrangements. This role will provide legal guidance on regulatory compliance, including HIPAA, telehealth regulations, AI in healthcare, data privacy, and healthcare fraud and abuse laws. The attorney will collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and clinical teams to assess legal risk, develop compliant workflows, and support new product features and services. Day-to-day work will include responding to internal legal inquiries, updating policies and terms of use, monitoring relevant regulatory changes, and assisting with risk management and governance frameworks. The role may also involve supporting training for internal stakeholders on legal and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Licensed attorney (JD or equivalent) in good standing with at least 3–5 years of experience in healthcare law, preferably including digital health or telehealth.
- Strong experience in healthcare regulatory compliance, including HIPAA, data privacy and security, telehealth regulations, and healthcare fraud and abuse laws (e.g., Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law).
- Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate healthcare and technology contracts, such as provider agreements, BAAs, NDAs, service agreements, and licensing contracts.
- Familiarity with AI, digital health, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) business models, including associated risk, governance, and ethical considerations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, research, and issue-spotting skills, with a practical, solutions-oriented approach to risk management.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, engineering, clinical, compliance, and operations) in a fast-paced or startup environment.
- High level of integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently and manage a part-time, remote schedule
