Job Purpose:

Lead and oversee all health, safety, and environmental activities across construction sites to ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards, maintain a safe working environment, prevent workplace incidents, promote safety awareness, and support successful project execution through effective risk management and safety control measures.

Main job duties and responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and control measures across construction sites
  2. Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company policies across all project sites
  3. Perform regular site inspections to detect potential hazards and unsafe work practices
  4. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions
  5. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools by all employees and contractors
  6. Coordinate emergency response procedures, evacuation plans, and firefighting systems on site
  7. Follow up the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to reduce workplace risks
  8. Ensure availability and proper maintenance of firefighting equipment, first aid kits, and emergency systems
  9. Ensure safe storage and handling of hazardous materials and chemicals on site
  10. Ensure all safety signs, warnings, and instructions are clearly displayed at construction sites
  11. Maintain health and safety records, reports, and documentation in line with company and legal requirements
  12. Coordinate with project teams to ensure safe execution of construction activities and compliance with HSE standards
  13. Maintain records of accidents, inspections, training sessions, and corrective actions for audit purposes
  14. Prepare periodic health and safety reports and submit recommendations for continuous improvement
  15. Support internal and external health and safety audits and inspections
  16. Perform any additional tasks that might be necessary for easier workflow, within the main frame of the job’s specialty

Job requirements:

Educational background and previous experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 7 years of experience in health and safety.
  3. Professional certification in Health and Safety (e.g., IOSH, OSHA) is a Must.
  4. Professional certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH) is preferred.
