Our client is a fast-growing company in the process of getting a full license to operate in the highly dynamic crypto-asset market, partnering with leading fintech and financial services organizations.
They are currently seeking a Head of Legal & Compliance to join their expanding team. This role combines compliance, legal, and MLRO responsibilities, with a strong focus on building and overseeing a robust regulatory framework within a fast-evolving, regulated environment.
In this position, you will ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including MiCA, DORA, PSD2, and AML/CFT regulations (including the Travel Rule), as well as relevant regulatory guidance. You will oversee suspicious activity reporting (SAR/STR), manage legal and compliance risks, and lead the development and enhancement of internal policies and procedures.
You will also monitor first line of defense functions, support contract preparation and negotiation, handle complaint management, liaise with regulators, and contribute to staff training while promoting a strong compliance culture across the organization.
The ideal candidate is fluent in English, holds a Master’s degree in Law, and has at least 3 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably within banks, payment institutions, or investment firms. Experience in a similar role (mid to senior level) within a CASP or VASP environment is highly advantageous, as is personal or professional exposure to crypto-assets.
