Role Overview & Key Responsibilities:
This role acts as a trusted legal and business partner to the regional leadership team (ExCo) across APAC, providing high-impact guidance on commercial, regulatory, employment, privacy, and compliance matters. The incumbent will:
- Strategic & Commercial Leadership
Lead and advise on complex commercial transactions, strategic partnerships, RFPs/tenders, and key business initiatives, ensuring strong alignment with regional business objectives and risk mitigation.
- Risk Management & Governance
Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, commercial, and regulatory risks; oversee litigation and external counsel; ensure compliance with corporate governance and regional regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Advisory
Partner with business leaders and global legal teams to provide pragmatic, business-focused legal advice; support integration of new entities, corporate initiatives, and operational projects.
- Capability Building & Process Excellence
Develop and maintain legal frameworks, playbooks, policies, and training; enhance stakeholder understanding of legal, regulatory, and commercial matters to support operational effectiveness and long-term business growth.
- Candidate Profile & Requirements
15+ years’ law firm or in-house experience; licensed or eligible to practice in Hong Kong SAR; fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English; able to work independently and collaboratively; occasional travel across the region may be required.
