The Legal Head of Department will lead the legal function for Noatum Ports Jordan, providing strategic and operational legal advice across port, terminal, commercial, procurement, employment, regulatory and corporate matters.
The role will protect the organization’s legal and commercial interests while ensuring compliance with applicable Jordanian laws, regulations, contractual obligations and Group requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the legal function and provide strategic legal advice to senior management.
- Review, draft and negotiate commercial, operational, procurement and service agreements.
- Provide legal guidance on port, terminal, logistics and maritime-related activities.
- Manage contractual risks and advise management on commercial implications.
- Support tenders, RFPs, concessions, partnerships and major commercial transactions.
- Advise on employment and labour-law matters in coordination with HR.
- Manage disputes, claims, litigation and external legal counsel.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Jordanian legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain appropriate legal records, contracts and documentation.
- Develop legal policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
- Identify and mitigate legal and contractual risks.
- Provide legal support during organizational changes, projects and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Admission to practice in Jordan is highly preferred/required depending on scope.
- 10–15+ years of legal experience, preferably including leadership responsibility.
- Strong experience in commercial contracts and corporate law.
- Experience in ports, maritime, logistics, infrastructure, transportation or industrial environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Jordanian legislation and regulatory environment.
- Excellent Arabic and English communication skills.
