Our client is looking for a Head of legal in Singapore, you would be in charge globally for their data centre portfolio.

Role Purpose
Provide strategic legal leadership for the Group’s overseas real estate and data centre operations. As Head of Legal, you will design and oversee compliance frameworks, guide major transactions, manage disputes, and ensure the Group’s growth is supported by robust legal governance.
Key Responsibilities
Legal System Development & Compliance
- Establish and continuously improve legal frameworks, policies, and procedures for Singapore and Southeast Asian operations.
Monitor regulatory changes in the regional real estate and data centre sectors, advising the CEO and senior management on compliance strategies and risk mitigation.
End-to-End Legal Support for Projects
- Provide legal oversight across the full lifecycle of international projects: investment, land acquisition, development, sales, and property management.
- Lead negotiations and review high-value contracts (land purchase, engineering, financing, sales agency), ensuring compliance and optimizing templates for efficiency.
Capital Operations & Corporate Transactions
- Support overseas investments, financing, M&A, and equity incentive programs.
- Coordinate with external advisors on due diligence, resolve legal issues, and ensure compliant execution of corporate transactions.
Dispute Resolution & Risk Management
- Direct litigation, arbitration, and compliance disputes, working with external counsel to minimize exposure and reputational risk.
- Build early warning systems for legal risks, conduct regular assessments, and implement proactive prevention measures.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Build and lead the overseas legal team, set performance standards, and implement training programs to strengthen expertise.
- Partner with investment, finance, operations, and HR teams to deliver legal training and embed a compliance culture.
- Maintain strong external relationships with regulators, law firms, and industry associations in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law. Preference for Singapore‑qualified lawyers or those familiar with Singapore’s legal system.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years’ legal practice, with at least 5 years in the real estate or data centre industry.
- Competencies: Proficient in data centre laws, regulations, and foreign investment policies in Singapore and Southeast Asia. Strong skills in legal drafting, contract review, risk analysis, and handling complex cross‑border disputes.
- Soft Skills: Proven leadership, strategic mindset, and ability to influence at executive level. Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Fluency in English and Chinese
- Other: No history of professional misconduct. High sense of responsibility, professionalism, and confidentiality.
