Position Overview:
As a Legal Assistant within our firm, your role is pivotal in supporting our attorneys and paralegals to efficiently manage our extensive caseload. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of our legal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Monitoring: Keep a close eye on docket reports to identify upcoming hearings and manage schedules accordingly.
Document Handling: Procure necessary documents such as orders, notices, and other legal materials from clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
Court Liaison: Act as a point of contact with courts to gather information or submit documentation.
Document Preparation: Utilize templates to generate essential documents and emails, ensuring timely communication.
Filing and Serving: Handle the filing and serving of legal documents, adhering to strict deadlines.
Data Management: Accurate data entry into our sophisticated client and case management systems.
Supportive Tasks: Assist attorneys and paralegals with miscellaneous tasks and projects as needed to facilitate case progression.
Client Communication: Communicating with clients about the status of their case(s)
Negotiation of Agreements: Negotiating and finalizing settlements between our client and the company suing them on assigned cases.
Requirements for Success:
Organizational Mastery: Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
Legal Savvy: Basic understanding of state court pleadings and procedures.
Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Spanish to cater to a diverse clientele.
Deadline Driven: Competency in managing and calendaring important events and deadlines.
Technological Proficiency: Computer literate with a high level of accuracy in document processing and data entry.
What We Offer:
Competitive Salary: The salary range for this position will be dependent on experience (DOE) but is anticipated to be in the $33,500 – $38,000 range.
Benefits Package: Comprehensive benefits including a 401k plan, health insurance, and paid time off, available after 90 days of employment.
Work Schedule: Full-time position with a balanced schedule of Monday to Thursday, 8 AM – 5 PM, and Fridays from 8 AM – 4 PM.
