Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced TDS Compliance and Litigation Specialist to
join our team
. This role involves ensuring compliance with Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) regulations and managing litigation related to TDS matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax laws, excellent
analytical skills
, and the ability to navigate complex legal and financial landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
TDS Compliance:
– Ensure timely and accurate deduction, deposit, and filing of TDS returns.
– Monitor compliance with applicable TDS provisions and regulations.
– Handle TDS reconciliations and resolve mismatches in Form 26AS and books of accounts.
Litigation Management:
– Represent the company during TDS assessments, inquiries, and appeals before tax authorities.
– Prepare and review submissions, replies, and other documentation for TDS-related litigation.
– Liaise with external consultants and legal advisors for effective resolution of disputes.
Advisory and Strategy:
– Provide guidance on TDS implications for various financial transactions.
– Assist in implementing policies to minimize TDS-related risks.
– Keep the organization updated on changes in TDS laws and regulations.
Audit and Reporting:
– Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.
– Maintain accurate records for TDS deductions, deposits, and litigations.
– Prepare regular reports for management on compliance status and litigation progress.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Law, or related fields. Semi qualified/Qualified CA/CWA/LLB
– Minimum 4 years of experience in TDS compliance and litigation.
– Proficient in TDS software and tools such as TRACES.
– In-depth knowledge of Income Tax Act provisions relating to TDS.
– Strong analytical,
