We are seeking an experienced senior legal executive to lead the legal and compliance agenda of a large-scale, multi-location group operating in a highly regulated environment.
The role will provide strategic legal guidance to senior executive leadership and support the organisation’s growth, investment, governance, risk management and transformation priorities.
This position requires a legal leader who can manage complex legal matters beyond day-to-day legal operations, contribute to executive-level decision-making and establish a proactive legal risk management approach across multiple entities and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate legal processes across the group and its affiliated entities.
- Provide strategic legal advice to senior executive leadership on business, investment and organisational decisions.
- Identify, assess and report legal, regulatory and compliance risks.
- Manage legal aspects of investment, licensing, restructuring, transfer, merger and business transformation projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Manage relationships and legal correspondence with public authorities, regulatory bodies and other external institutions.
- Oversee contract management processes, including contract drafting, review, negotiation and approval.
- Manage litigation, enforcement, dispute resolution and external legal counsel processes.
- Provide legal guidance on employment-related disputes and complex labour law matters.
- Develop legal policies, compliance frameworks, approval mechanisms and internal control standards.
- Support senior management in negotiations involving strategic partnerships, commercial arrangements and investment projects.
- Strengthen legal governance, documentation, reporting and risk-monitoring practices across the organisation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognised Faculty of Law.
- Minimum 15 years of professional legal experience gained within corporate organisations and/or reputable law firms.
- Significant experience in a senior legal leadership or legal management position.
- Experience within highly regulated, multi-company, multi-location or large-scale organisations is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, commercial law, contract law, labour law, compliance and regulatory matters.
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations, investment projects, business transactions and organisational restructuring.
- Ability to provide practical, commercially sound and risk-balanced legal advice.
- Experience working closely with senior executives and decision-making bodies.
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance, internal control and risk management principles.
- Advanced written and spoken English.
- Strong leadership, representation, communication and negotiation skills.
- High standards of confidentiality, professional ethics and personal judgement.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to manage both complex legal matters and broader organisational priorities.
