The Graduate: Legal Affairs Commercial Function provides legal oversight and advisory support across payments, lending, overdraft, savings, and remittance products, ensuring that legal risk is effectively managed without constraining innovation, speed to market, or commercial growth.
As part of your portfolio as Graduate: Legal Affairs Commercial Function, your responsibilities will include:
- Legal Research and Advisory Support
- Contract and Document Support
- Regulatory and Legislative Monitoring
- Governance and Compliance Support
- Stakeholder and Team Support
- Learning and Development
The incumbent must have the following:
- No formal work experience required
- Any vacation work, internships, or academic exposure within legal, commercial, or financial services environments will be advantageous
- Basic understanding of South African law and legal principles
- Introductory knowledge of commercial law and contract law
- Awareness of financial services, fintech, or digital platforms (advantageous)
- Legal research and legal writing fundamentals
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent law degree
What will give an edge to your application:
- Articles (recently completed or to be completed within the year of appointment)
- Admission as an Attorney in South Africa
- Postgraduate legal qualification will be advantageous but not required
