Position Summary:
The Government Relations Officer (GRO) is responsible for ensuring compliance with Saudi government regulations and handling all interactions with government entities on behalf of company to ensure smooth company operations. This role involves managing legal documentation, permits, registrations, and issue resolution while maintaining strong relationships with government authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Government Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the company and government authorities. Manage interactions with ministries, municipalities, and other regulatory bodies.
Documentation and Permits: Process visas, work permits, Iqama renewals, and other employee-related government requirements; Ensure all company and employee documents (e.g., CR, GOSI, Zakat certificates, and etc.) are up-to-date.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in government policies and regulations and ensure the organization complies with them. Handle legalizations, attestations, and translations of official documents as needed.
Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any government-related issues that may arise promptly and professionally. Assist company in resolving business issues related to government-related policies, regulations and processes. Assist employees in resolving individual issues related to immigration or other government-related processes.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all government transactions and documents. Prepare reports for management on government-related activities.
Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with government officials to facilitate smooth operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business administration, public relations, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in a GRO role or a similar position in Saudi Arabia.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Saudi labor laws, industrial and commercial law and practice, and government procedures. Proficiency in visa, Iqama, and work permit processing. Proficiency in company documents processing.
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Fluency in Arabic (essential) and English (essential). Chinese speaking will be preferred.
Other: Saudi nationality (Plus). Work proactively, goal-result-oriented. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Valid Saudi driving license.
