Summary

At Better Life Plans, the Supervisor has a vital role in ensuring their team is supported and has the tools, training, and resources they need to execute their responsibilities effectively. The Supervisor’s function is to manage their team on issues regarding all aspects of a lawsuit, including drafting answers, timely filing, oversight of post-filing procedures, and general accuracy and accountability of the litigation support process. They will ensure the consistency and quality of their team and assist with managing the relationship with Partner Companies and Attorneys. They will need to effectively communicate updates between the Team Members, Upper Management, state Attorneys, and Partner Companies. Below is a list of primary responsibilities and requirements of the BLP Supervisor.

Responsibilities

Review lawsuit intake and volume, address issues and escalations with the team and Upper Management.
Facilitate questions regarding lawsuits from Paralegals and Client Service Representatives.
Address escalated issues regarding lawsuits.
Communicate monthly performance results and coaching to Paralegals.
Identify performance issues and address with team members as needed.
Identify training opportunities and develop training plans for their team, coach as needed.
Communicate process and procedure updates and reminders.
Troubleshoot problems and concerns and develop solutions when possible.
Document and archive all team communication.
Complete and communicate quarterly conversations and Annual Reviews with Paralegals.
Communicate with State’s Attorneys on updates with state-specific processes.
Address any company policy or personnel issues and escalate as needed.
Hold others accountable for their action and performance.
Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of new paralegals.
Track, review, and approve all time and attendance, including, but not limited to, PTO, VTO, and OT.
Assist with BLP quarterly projects as needed.
Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

Paralegal certification, similar legal services degree, or 3+ years of paralegal experience.
Above average skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proactive in finding solutions while also using discernment when escalating issues.
Demonstrates ownership of work and maintains excellent quality standards.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in written format at a high level.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with team members, internal partners, and clients.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Law, Business, Communication, or similar field.
3+ years of leadership experience.
Familiar with FDCPA guidelines.
Effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Full time; Exempt role; Weekly Pay

$50,000 annual salary (non-negotiable and firm)

Schedule: Monday – Friday (9:00am-5:30pm EST)
