ADI is seeking a highly-organized and detail-oriented Global Privacy Advisor to support the legal team with respect to all aspects of its Data Privacy law practice.

The role acts as the interface between Legal and Business and, therefore, the role is part advisory and part operational: operationally, it is responsible for embedding ADI's data privacy program into the business. From an advisory perspective, the role is responsible for ensuring consistency between business units when it comes to personal data processing. This includes understanding and advising the business on best practices and required business actions in light of changing regulations. The role will report to the Chief IP Counsel.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Advise other departments (HR, Marketing, customer service, engineering, etc.) on best practices regarding data handling and access
  • Day to day operation of the privacy compliance process, working with product managers to help them develop privacy-compliant products
  • Day to day operation of the data subject rights process, including monitoring the privacy mailbox and ensuring DSRs are actioned quickly and completely by the business within legally required time periods and acting as escalation point for the business
  • Implement privacy by design framework for new product development
  • Lead data subject rights exercises (obtain, review, redact, provide in-scope data; arrange for suspension/deletion etc.)
  • Advise on appropriate management of opt-ins/outs and standard language
  • Implementing and improving data retention and deletion processes that ensure our products and systems meet retention policy requirements
  • Support on data incidents, reportability and mandatory remediation work, including support on preparing filings
  • Ensure employees are informed of our privacy practices including managing the Privacy Champions Network, a voluntary network of staff who are given targeted training and resources to act as first line support for privacy queries in their respective teams

WE VALUE:

  • Experience with in-house legal team at a large company or large law firm
  • Experience working within a technology consumer products company
  • Experience in using electronic privacy and electronic matter management; prior use of OneTrust and Service Now platforms
  • Proficient computer software skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • Proactive problem solving with an ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, seek guidance and escalate appropriately, effectively manage time and projects, and handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with strong sense of accountability, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Stellar organizational skills and resourcefulness
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Fluent in the English language, including experience with verbal/written communication of legal and technical matters
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to pitch in on unexpected project
