We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our Global Legal Team in Korea. As a member of the team, you will advise SK hynix’s global business organizations on a broad range of cross-border commercial and dispute-related matters. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with business leaders, manage complex legal issues, and develop practical solutions in a fast-paced global environment.
Key Responsibilities
•Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including procurement, sales, technology licensing, R&D collaboration and other strategic transactions.
•Partner closely with business teams to structure new business initiatives, identify legal risks and develop practical, business-oriented solutions.
•Provide day-to-day legal support to global business functions, including R&D, procurement, sales, strategy and overseas affiliates.
•Analyze legal claims, investigate facts, assess litigation risks and prepare internal reports and recommendations for senior management.
•Develop and execute legal strategies for cross-border litigation, arbitration, regulatory investigations and other dispute resolution matters.
•Manage all phases of disputes, including coordination of fact development, document preservation and discovery, preparation of court submissions and engagement with outside counsel.
•Select, instruct and manage external counsel to ensure high-quality, cost-effective legal representation.
•Collaborate with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions on complex legal and business issues.
Qualifications
•Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent (LLM alone is not sufficient).
•Admitted to the bar in US, UK (or other common law jurisdictions) or other EU member states.
•Fluency in both Korean and English.
•At least 4-8 years of relevant post-qualification experience at a leading international law firm and/or the legal department of a multinational corporation.
•Significant experience drafting, negotiating and advising on complex commercial agreements.
•Experience handling litigation, arbitration, regulatory investigations or other complex disputes.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Korean and English
Preferences
•Understanding of Korean corporations and the semiconductor/IT industry.
•Ability to identify legal issues or risks and to see around the corners.
•Strong adaptability, teamwork, and communication skills.
•In-depth understanding of how legal issues affect organization and transactions.
