Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead legal advisor on global employment law and workforce matters across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Advise business leaders and HR on the full spectrum of employment issues, including hiring, terminations, employee relations, accommodations, leave management, wage and hour compliance, workplace investigations, and performance management.
  • Support a complex international workforce, including cross-border hiring, employee mobility, secondments, relocations, and expansion into new countries.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, consulting agreements, separation agreements, confidentiality and invention assignment agreements, offer letters, and other workforce-related documentation.
  • Develop and enhance employment policies, employee handbooks, compliance programs, training materials, and scalable legal processes to support continued global growth.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources, Finance, Tax, Equity Administration, and external immigration or mobility advisors on workforce-related legal matters.
  • Manage employment litigation, administrative claims, government agency matters, internal investigations, and outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Provide legal guidance on employee benefits, executive employment matters, equity compensation, and public-company or IPO readiness initiatives.
  • Support broader legal initiatives as needed, with opportunities to work across areas such as corporate governance, compliance, privacy, AI, intellectual property, and commercial matters.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior legal leadership, helping build and scale a world-class global legal function.

Must-Have Skills:

  • J.D. and active U.S. bar admission.
  • 12+ years of legal experience, including several years at a top law firm focused on employment law, executive compensation, or benefits, followed by in-house experience.
  • Significant experience advising multinational organizations on employment law across multiple countries.
  • Strong background supporting globally mobile workforces, including international assignments, relocations, and cross-border employment issues.
  • Experience helping organizations expand into new international jurisdictions and navigating unfamiliar legal and regulatory environments.
  • Extensive experience drafting and negotiating employment-related agreements and counseling HR and business leaders on day-to-day employment matters.
  • Experience managing employment litigation, workplace investigations, and government agency matters.
  • Comfortable working independently in a lean legal department where priorities shift quickly and everyone contributes beyond their core responsibilities.
  • Strong business judgment, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly evolving environment.
